  7. DECadvantage ╤ Network Processor (NWP) is a high-performance loadable WAN
  8. adapter for ISA- and EISA-based systems. NWP can be used for connections to
  9. public or private telephone networks, packet-switched data networks and
  10. circuit-switched data networks. NWP is perfectly suited to run almost any
  11. procol stack due to its dual processor structure (M68000 and M68010) running at
  12. 10 MHz and the 1 MB internal memory. The software products running on the NWP
  13. are X.25 and SDLC/V.24/X.21. They support networking products running in the
  14. main processor. The two independent network ports allow for concurrent running
  15. of different protocol stacks while saving an additional WAN processor. Each
  16. port is configurable for V.24/V.28, V.35 or X.21/X.24 and supports transmission
  17. speeds in the range of 600 bps to 72 Kbps. The ports can be used for
  18. asynchronous, byte synchronous, and bit synchronous protocols.
